‘ Skinny Fat Cardio’ -Should a Skinny Fat Person focus on cardio to lose fat?
The worst ‘Combo’ to cure Skinny Fat is this: Cardio + Dieting
Cardio inherently is not bad when done in limits—no more than 2 hours a week!
However, for Skinny Fat people, there is a much superior way out there and that is HIIT.
Idea is to convert a basic cardio session like Swimming/cycling into a HIIT session.
I swim only for 15 minutes using the concept of HIIT.
5 Sprint lap for 30 sec doing freestyle
Recover either by playing with my son for 2 min and then going for a sprint lap again for 30 sec doing freestyle.
Sometimes, when my son is not swimming with me, I recover by doing breaststrokes in a very casual manner.
I rest a lot between sprint sessions—this helps me recover fully and allows me to go -ALL OUT with my high-intensity intervals.
HIIT works out your fast twitch muscle fibers which otherwise does not get fully activated when doing regular swimming.
There is a huge upsurge of HGH and testosterone after every bout of HIIT session.
This helps build muscle.
A Skinny Fat person has weak genetics when it comes to building muscle. His/her recovery capabilities are average too.
They should follow a high intensity/low volume workout model to get best results.
